Recommended Walk – Dogmersfield and Basingstoke Canal Circular

Dogmersfield and Basingstoke Canal Circular

Another shorter walk today! Around 4 miles, or an hour and a half leisurely walk!

It can be extended at the end by approximately a mile by continuing past Tundry pond and around Dogmersfield Park.

Great walk with a dog, with a lovely section running alongside the Basingstoke Canal – There is one awkward Stile with dogs, however a section of fence can be lifted offering plenty of space even for bigger dogs.

There is plenty of parking available at the start, and there is a pub just opposite.

Recommended Walk – Thames Walk – Cookham to Cock Marsh Circular

Thames Walk - Cookham to Cock Marsh Circular

A great dog friendly walk recommendation!

At 4 miles and about 2 hours walk at a leisurely pace, this is fantastic for an afternoons walk. Anti clockwise is the best to save going down a steep hill.

For dogs who like the water as much as Enzo, then there is many great places for them to paddle and swim in the Thames!

Midway along the Thames path is a pub called the Bounty which is very dog friendly, however can get very busy on a weekend.

There is a fairly steep hill to walk up, although this can be made less steep by walking further along the Thames before cutting back in, although the views are stunning from the top!

There’s a flat walk through the Winter Hill Golf Course, however there is great visibility to be very little risk.

Parking is available at the start location, which is a National Trust car park – free for members, or currently £2 a day for non-members.

A lovely trek alongside the Thames, with some great views – followed by passing by a lock and then back around through the country side.

There is a pub half way round that is dog friendly, the Flower Pot, and worth a break in the beer garden.

Another dog-friendly walk recommendation today!

Approximately 6 miles or 3 hours at a leisurely pace – takes in forests, fields and lakes!

Very dog friendly route, with plenty of water access for water-loving dogs!

There is one short section alongside a busy road, however there is a reasonably wide verge.

Free parking at the start, however it can get busy so would recommend avoiding the busy midday rush.

Recommended Walk – Savill Garden to Virginia Water circular

Savill Garden to Virginia Water circular

We took a lovely trip to the Savill Garden for a nice 5 mile circular route down around Virginia Water.

We took around 3.5 hours, however this involved tons of swimming opportunities for Enzo!

Despite the area being very busy due to the weather, the areas are very large and as such it was very easy to avoid people. Many opportunities for Enzo to run off-lead as well as a result.

There is free parking just around the corner from the entrance to the Savill Garden Coach Parking, however it can get filled up fairly quickly.

Definitely recommend, but would say to do it early morning or late afternoon in order avoid the heat and the crowds.

Recommended Walk – Eversley through Heath Warren Circular

An alternative route from the same car park as the walk to Blackbushe Airport.

A stress-free walk through Heath Warren and the outskirts of the Bramshill Plantation – leading back alongside many Horse paddocks and even some Llamas and Goats to see!

Approximately 6 miles, or 2 hours at a leisurely pace.

Very easy route for dogs with no stiles although a few kissing gates. Dogs can be safely off-lead for the majority of the walk.

Free parking is available next to the church, postcode RG27 0px.

Recommended Walk – Goring Circular

A longer walk today, approximately 6 miles, or 3 hours at a leisurely pace!

A lovely walk along the Thames for the first half, and then some forest walking with stunning views mixed in!

Parking is free on Sundays from the start location, although there may have been other nearby free parking opportunities.

Easy walk with Enzo, and only one field with Cows grazing away.

Recommended Walk – Checkendon Court and Braziers Common (circular)

A great circular walk today leading from Checkendon Court to Braziers Common and back.

Shorter one to the others posted – just over 4 miles and about 2 hours at a leisurely pace!

Only saw one other couple on the route today, and very easy to pass with plenty of distance.

A chance to see many horses at the start and cows at the end. In the middle there’s a chance to see Pigs, however they weren’t about today!

Parking is available at the Church in Checkendon.

Highly recommended!
