What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a regulated primary natural health care which focuses upon the neuromusculoskeletal (nervous system, muscle, spine and joints)
system. Chiropractors are trained for 5 years at minimum to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system. A Chiropractor is a highly qualified professional who is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council. The title of ‘Chiropractor’ is protected by law.
How does Chiropractic work?
Chiropractic corrects spinal misalignment, in chiropractic term ” Subluxation”.
Subluxation mean the spinal vertebrae is at a improper motion or position affecting nerve communications between the brain and the rest of your body especially muscles and organs.
The word Subluxation:
Sub = ‘less than’
luxation = ‘dislocation’
Spinal subluxation is a result from accumulative physical stress, chemical stress and mental and emotional stress. Subluxation will cause
spinal spasm and nerve irritation, when it is severe it will affect the brain and organ communication which could cause disease.
Chiropractic adjustments correct subluxation which allow your nervous system to function and communication better between your brain and your body. Removing the subluxation allows your muscles to work in better balance.
Chiropractic uses spinal adjustment, soft tissue and joint manipulation to reduce pain and symptoms, improve function and increase mobility. Chiropractic also offers a package of care including advice on self-help, therapeutic exercises, nutrition and lifestyle changes to help your body to heal itself naturally.

First visit: New Patient examination (1 hour)
Patient history discussion
Please kindly arrive at the clinic 10 minutes prior to your appointment to fill in the questionnaire. The questionnaire will help us assess your health condition, medical history and any other existing conditions. Your chiropractor will discuss with you further about your pain history and health goal.
The chiropractic examination provides the key for me to understand the cause of your health condition and provide you the most efficient care plan for your condition. The examinations will include:
- – Posture analysis
- – Range of motion assessment
- – Orthopaedic examination
- – Neurological examination
Before the examination, we would usually ask you to change into a patient gown in privacy, this allow better access to your spine for examination. (keep your underwear on and feel free to wear a pair of shorts if it would make you feel more comfortable)
Once the examination is completed, your Chiropractor will be able to let you know if your condition is suitable for chiropractic care. Depending on your condition, you chiropractor will decide if adjustments are suitable for your condition on the day of your examination. Then we will book your next visit to provide you a detailed Report of Finding.
